"Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior." -Habakkuk 3:18
On November 9, we had Thanksgiving concert at the concert hall of Yonsei University. The program included performances by our orchestra, chorus, and brass ensemble, as well as piano and soprano solos. Along with the beautiful music, we were blessed with wonderful weather, so our hearts were full of thanksgiving. Sixty-five orchestra members and fifty-six chorus members performed, including musicians of all skill levels.
The concert began with classical music, including Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, and Schumann's Piano Concerto in A Minor, and Dvorak's Symphony No.8. In the next segment of the concert, we listened to Mozart's Coronation Mass and the Forrest Gump Suite from the original soundtrack. One of our sopranos, Jung-Ok Kim, also sang Goose Dream, a very popular song that new college students enjoyed. The highlight of the concert was the encore performance of Symphony of Praise, which made us hallow and praise the Lamb that was slain and the Only God, who created the universe and is sovereign over it.
By ourselves, we could not have put this concert together. But when we offered God our hearts as our five loaves and two fish, God was pleased to accept it and blessed us with the best music. The music was so touching and joyful. We pray that we may continue to praise and serve God with yearly orchestra concerts in the future. I am thankful for everyone who participated in our concert. I really thank God that we could glorify him, being filled with much joy.
